by Euripides

Directed by
Jennifer Goodlander
Snubbed by a stubborn and moralistic king, the God of wine gets his bloody revenge in this exciting staging infused with Martial Arts, Drumming and Masks..
For her staging of Euripides' classic, Jennifer goodlander has been inspired by the Sumatran folk tradition of Randai, a unique blend of martial arts, song, dance and acting.  Costume pieces become musical instruments as the actors drum their bodies and costumes.  Also drawing on Traditional Asian use of masks, Goodlander lets us experience this play as a folk ritual.
