Vivie Warren is at a crossroads.  Confronted by a mother she barely knows, and a house full of unexpected guests with agendas of their own, she decides to pursue the truth of her Parentage.  Unlocking the Pandora's box of secrets that comprise her mother's history forces Vivie to reconcile her Victorian upper class morals with the reality of her mother's life.  Mrs. Warren's Profession forces all of us to question the old adage, " The Truth Will Set You Free."

A uniquely Shavian blend of humor and social criticism, this tale of a young woman forced to confront the indelicate truth about her mother's wealth is as relevant today as when it premiered in 1902.  Young people will recognize themselves in Vivie, the headstrong idealist; their parents will understand the compromises Mrs. Warren accepts in order to ensure her daughter's happiness.  Mrs. Warren's Profession exposes the hypocrisy and sexism of a society that condemns the same vices that fuel its economy. There will be audience talkbacks after the performance on February 13 and 16.
